Obituary of Elverna C. Rickerson

Elverna C. Rickerson, 95, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born September 24, 1920 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Oscar and Ellen Carlson Hegg. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for 37 years by the Jamestown Lounge Co. Elverna enjoyed hunting and trap shooting with her late husband, and was a life member of the Busti Trap Club. She is survived by a son, Ronald (Mary Beth) Rickerson of Jamestown; a granddaughter, Rosemary (Kevin) Ruttenbur of Russell, PA; a grandson, Adam (Tara) Rickerson of Broomfield, CO; and three great-grandchildren: Jake Ruttenbur of Russell, PA, and Max and Chase Rickerson, both of Broomfield, CO. Also surviving is a stepson, Edwin "Wink" Rickerson of Warren, PA; three step-grandchildren: Brenda (Tom) Lord, Joyce Ann Rickerson and Ed Rickerson; and four step-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Elverna was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Rickerson in 1998; three brothers: Stanley Hegg in 1980, Richard Hegg of CT in 2011 and Robert Hegg of CO in 2014; as well as a step-granddaughter, Sharon (Tom) Arnold. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
