Obituary of Marjorie L. Larson

Marjorie L. Larson, 94, formerly of the Frewsburg Rest Home and the Peck-Settlement Rd. Jamestown, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, November 1, 2015, in the Rouse Home, Youngsville, PA. A lifelong area resident, she was born September 11, 1921 in Frewsburg, NY a daughter of the late Albert L. and Alice Anderson Larson. She was a 1938 graduate of Frewsburg Central School and graduated in 1942 from the WCA Hospital School of Nursing. Before her retirement in 1980, she was a registered nurse at WCA Hospital for 38 years where she was head nurse in the surgical department for several years. Marjorie was a longtime member of the Stillwater United Methodist Church which is now New Beginnings United Methodist Church. During her retirement years was active with the WCA Hospital Alumni Association and the Kiantone Senior Citizens. She will be remembered as a person who was always caring for others her entire life. Surviving are a sister, Barbara T. Brewer of Tenn. as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Allene VanDewark, two brothers, LaVerne Larson, Sherman Larson and her lifelong friend Beatrice Bratt. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Warren VanDewark, Marjorie's nephew, will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg, NY. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the WCA Hospital Foundation, P.O.
