Obituary of Adelia C. Amberman

Adelia C. "Dee" Amberman, 92, of Jamestown, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015, in her home with her loving husband by her side. She was born December 8, 1923 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Harold "Jack" Cochrane and Ruth Dake Logan. Dee was a 1941 graduate of Jamestown High School where she was a cheerleader, cellist, and was the Jamestown City Tennis Champion. She was an accomplished musician and writer, contributing several articles to the Post Journal. She was an avid golfer and bowler and was the ladies club champion at Maplehurst Country Club. She had worked with her son, Jack Johnson, as assistant golf pro at Conewango Valley Country Club in Warren, PA, Crag Burn Golf Club in East Aurora, NY and the Seven Springs Country Club in New Port Richey, FL. She was lifetime member of the LPGA Teaching Division for almost 50 years and has a walkway honorarium at the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, FL. Surviving are her husband of 32 years, Carl R. Amberman whom she married February 14, 1983, her four children, Dianne Johnson of Dawsonville, GA, Jack Johnson of New Port Richey, L, Barbara Jean (Steve Strickland) of Jamestown, Tom (Rosalie) Johnson of Jamestown, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and by Carl's six children and seven grandchildren. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family and they wish to express their appreciation for the excellent care and kindness shown by all the Hospice personnel.
