Obituary of Minnie C. Cunningham

Minnie C. Cunningham, 88, of 900 North Main St., Jamestown passed away at 3:12 a.m. Friday December 25, 2015, in W.C.A. Hospital. An area resident for most of her life, she was born January 3, 1927 in Bessemer, AL a daughter of the late George Speight and Hallie Coleman. For over 50 years Minnie was a beautician in her own home. In previous years she had worked for the former National Worsted Mills, the former Ali Cleaners and the former Bigelow's Department Store. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church where she served as an usher for many years. She was an avid bowler and belonged to several bowling leagues and will be remembered as one who loved to do crossword puzzles, play card games, watch Jeopardy and was a New York Met fan. Surviving are a son, John Williams of Waterbury, CT, two grandsons, Quincey Willams of Pittsfield, MA, Malik Williams of Stockton, CA, two great grandsons Tyler Williams and Quincey Williams, Jr. as well as many cousins and extended family members including Mary Gilbert of Jamestown and her close friend Lorraine Warmack. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Fred "Pete" Cunningham who died January 5, 1990. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. LeRoy Walker, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the church.
