Obituary of Beryl J. Boss

Beryl J. Boss, 83, formerly of Young St. Jamestown passed away at 7:04 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2016, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility, following a lengthy illness. A lifelong area resident, she was born December 13, 1932 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Arthur E. and Mary Vandershaff Johnson. She was a 1951 graduate of Jamestown High School and had previously worked as a Secretary for the First Baptist Church for over 20 years. In earlier years she was the Secretary to Fred Bigelow at Bigelow's Department Store. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Ira Lou Spring Post # 149 American Legion Auxiliary. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved to spend time knitting. Surviving are her husband, Richard F. Boss whom she married September 17, 1954, two sons, Todd R. Boss of Lakewood, NY, Scott A. Boss of Jamestown, three grandchildren, Danielle L. Boss of Buffalo, NY, Erica Butler of Charlotte, NC, Jessica Jones of Dayton, OH and her sister, Myrna Rice of Ellington, NY. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Gerald Haglund, will officiate. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
