Obituary of Everett M. King

Everett M. King, 83, of Wesleyan Street Panama, NY, passed away peacefully January 1, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer in Bartow Medical Center in Bartow, FL. Everett was born in Clymer, NY October 12, 1932, the son of Floyd and Maggie Bakerink King. He graduated from Clymer Central School in 1950 and worked many years for the Chautauqua County Highway Department. Everett is survived by his wife Eleanor Johnson whom he married on May 7, 1955; a son, Richard (Janet) King of Victor, NY; two daughters, Marcia King of Mohawk, NY; Sharon (Chuck) Reese of Cassadaga, NY; a sister, Lois King of Bear Lake, PA; six grandchildren, Corey and Emily King; Anna and Evan Vande Velde; Alexandria and Matthew King. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Roger King and a son-in-law, Jack Vande Velde. Throughout his life, he enjoyed following his children's and grandchildren's sports and musical interests. He enjoyed camping with the Coachman Club and spending winters in Florida. Everett was a member of the Panama United Methodist Church, active in the Peacock Lodge #696 F & AM, and was a life-exempt Panama Fireman. He also enjoyed activities with the Harmony and North Harmony Senior Citizens. The funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Panama United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery Niobe, NY. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home.
