Obituary of Shirley D. Ingraham

Shirley Ingraham, 82 of 5480 Scandia Drive, Bemus Point, New York passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in her home. She was born on March 23, 1933 in Buffalo, NY and was the daughter of the late Roy E. and Bernice Danielson of Jamestown, NY. She was a 1951 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1953 graduate of Alfred University. Shirley was loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister to her family that brought her great joy and immense pleasure each and every day. During her life, she enjoyed her work with Dr. Robert Scott, painting, weekly bridge games with treasured friends as well as working with the Jamestown Mozart Club, the Bemus Point Study Club, the Bemus Point Library and the Bemus Point United Methodist Church. She loved sharing time and conversation with family and her neighborhood friends and in later years enjoyed trips with her husband Richard to the Carolinas. She is survived by her husband Richard Ingraham (June 1, 1985), two sisters: Carol Danielson of Westhampton, NY and Marilyn Moreland of Burlington, VT, three sons: Mark (Anne) Sleggs of Mayville, NY, Gary (Rita) Sleggs of Charleston, SC and Todd Sleggs of Cleveland, OH, eight grandchildren: Jay Newton of Jamestown, NY, Kyle Sleggs of Pittsfield, MA, Liam Sleggs of Cleveland, OH, Wil (Cathy) Sleggs of Bemus Point, NY, Conor Sleggs of Orchard Park, NY, Brenna Sleggs of East Lansing, MI, and Elizabeth and Mary Marshaus of Mayville, NY, and four nieces and nephews: Michelle Moreland of Santa Fe, NM, Lance Scorse of Westhampton, NY, Lisa Scorse and Nancy Scorse. She was preceded in death by a husband, Alton C. Sleggs, her father and mother, Roy E. and Bernice Danielson, and brother-in-law, Dr. Morey Moreland and a nephew, Michael Moreland. Friends will be received on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 3 to 6 PM in the Lind Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 3 PM at the Bemus Point United Methodist Church with Pastors Bill and Kristen Allen leading the service. Memorials may be made to the Bemus Point United Methodist Church; the Bemus Point Library; the Maple Springs Fire Department; or the Fallen Officers Fund, c/o the Chautauqua County Sheriffs Department.
