Obituary of Marien K. Hall

Marien Kindberg Hall passed away in her sleep on January 16, 2016 at the Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place in Baldwinsville, New York. She was 93 years old. She was preceded in death by all her siblings, sisters Martha Wood and Ruby Merritt and brothers Youngve and Marvin Kindberg. She is survived by her son Timothy (Marilyn) Hall, nephew Theodore (Beverly) Wood, niece Faith (Rev. Ronald) Tryon, niece Anita Bonomo, niece Beth (David) Artise and many extended family members, all of whom she loved very much. She was born in Jamestown, NY to Hjalmar and Annie Kindberg. She was the valedictorian of her class at Jamestown High School. She was an accomplished soloist and had her own half-hour radio program, earning the nickname "Swedish Nightingale." After graduating as valedictorian at Nyack Missionary College, she married her pastor at the Jamestown Christian and Missionary Alliance church, Rev. George O. Hall. They served together there, and then at an independent church in Passaic NJ and at C&MA pastorates in Utica NY, Windsor, Ontario, Fulton NY, Kenmore NY and Penfield, NY. Between the Utica and Windsor assignments they moved to Arlington, TX where George served as the C&MA Southwestern District Superintendent and Marien served as the Youth Secretary for the district. Marien will be remembered by the nursing home residents and staff for her friendly greeting and winning smile in spite of her severe stroke damage. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but she is with her beloved husband in the presence of her Savior now, so all is well. A funeral service will be held in Jamestown, NY at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Sunset Hill Cemetery Chapel. The Rev. Wayne Eppehimer, pastor of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church will officiate. A memorial service will be held at the Fulton Alliance Church in Fulton, NY at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the "George and Marien Hall Harvest Field Workers Endowment Fund," in care of The Orchard Foundation, 8595 Explorer Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80920.
