Obituary of Gerald M. Butera

Gerald M. "Jerry" Butera, 67, of 19 Elam Avenue, died Friday February 5, 2016, in Warren Manor. He was born September 30, 1948, in Cincinnati, OH, the son of Charles and Rosella Kind Butera. He was a 1966 graduate of Jamestown High School. Most of his working career was in sales. He worked for insurance companies to the Transcontinental Record Label and concluding with Signature Paving. He was a talented drummer playing with several bands including The Leftovers with whom he had a top 10 record. They played at various establishments including Golden Gloves, Melody Inn and Stravato's. Surviving besides his mother of Jamestown are two daughters Crystal Butera of Dunkirk and Heather Butera of Jamestown; a son Andrew Butera of Arizona; five grandchildren Brianna Darling, Aubrey DeLeon, Jaylen Butera, Julio DeLeon and Javon Butera; two sisters Diana (Ron Nordstrom) of Jamestown and Debbie (Tim Eddy) Zahn of Ashville and his former wife Colleen Butera of Jamestown. He was preceded in death by his father. In keeping with Jerry's wishes no funeral service or visitation will be observed. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
