Obituary of Joyce E. Anderson

Joyce E. Anderson, 84, of 312 LaBarbera Lane, formerly of 12 Woodworth Ave., passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was the widow of Frederick J. Anderson, Sr. whom she married March 25, 1950 and who died April 5, 2009. Joyce was born in Jamestown on December 19, 1931, a daughter of the late Harry A. and Ethel Lawson Hall. She was a member of Fluvanna Community Church. Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl (Wayne) Gustafson of Lakewood and Cindy (Rick) Ordines of Jamestown with whom Joyce made her home; a son, Dr. F. James (Paula) Anderson, Jr. of Georgia; eleven grandchildren: Paul (Jamie) Gustafson of Lakewood, Kristin (Shawn) Fileger of Jamestown, Andrea (Okey) Lawrence of North Carolina, Shawn (Rhonda) Shilling of Jamestown, Andrew (Lacie) Shilling of Lakewood, Lindsey (Brad) Kershaw of Ohio, Scott (Lindsey) Ordines and Mike (Carrie) Ordines, both of Jamestown, Joshua (Jessica) Anderson of Wyoming, Jamie Anderson of Mississippi and Jacob Anderson of Georgia; and 21 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Phyllis Paddock and Carol Phillips, both of Gerry, and Jean Anderson of Falconer. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. Kenneth Hall and Vernon Hall. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. A private family service will be held. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Joyce's family would like to thank the staff on the 5th floor of WCA Hospital and of Heritage Village for their excellent care, and especially Dr. Fanos and Dr. George So for their loving care of many years.
