Obituary of Kathleen F. Peterson

Kathleen F. Peterson, 69, of 117 Crescent Street, died Sunday February 21, 2016, in her home. A lifelong Jamestown resident, she was born August 22, 1946, a daughter of the late Gordon and Francis Waite McGrath. She was a graduate of Jamestown Community College with a degree in Human Services. For over 10 years she was employed by STEL, Inc as a rehabilitation counselor. She loved her pets and Bluegrass music. Surviving are two daughters Victoria (Rich) Johnson of Jamestown and Kerry (Charles) Rugg of Panama; four grandchildren Brian, Alex and Hannah Daniels and Cristina Rugg; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her companion of 24 years Chester VanArsdale with whom she made her home. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Butch and Daniel McGrath and a sister Ruth Nutt. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at Lakewood Memorial Post American Legion immediately following the visitation Saturday.
