Obituary of James M. Mattison

James M. Mattison, 72, of 118 Wescott Street, died Tuesday February 23, 2016, in WCA Hospital. A lifelong Jamestown resident, he was born June 3, 1943, a son of the late Charles and Margaret Andersson Mattison. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1963-65. For over 41 years he was employed by MRC-TRW. He was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. He enjoyed reading, puzzles and golf, but most of all he loved his family especially his grandchildren. Surviving is his wife Karen Klenck Mattison, whom he married January 23, 1970; four children Deborah (Jim) Atkins of Gilbert, AZ, Melissa Mattison of Hershey, PA, Lori (Jonathan) Koznesoff of Columbus, OH and Scott (Marlena) Mattison of Falconer and four grandchildren Margaret and Evelyn Atkins and Karleigh and Colton Mattison. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Steven James Mattison and two brothers Charles "Jerry" Mattison and Marshall Mattison. Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held in July at a time to be announced.
