Obituary of Cynthia D. Parsons

Cynthia D. Parsons, 53, of Jamestown, passed away at 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2016, in W.C.A. Hospital, following a courageous battle with a rare form of cancer. A lifelong area resident, she was born December 12, 1962 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of Kenneth Jolly and the late Alice LaBarte Jolly. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who was an excellent homemaker. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She was also a very enthusiastic and goal oriented person. When she started a project she would see it through to its completion. She also was known to have a green thumb and could grow anything. She loved nature and being outdoors. Surviving are two sons, Justin Parsons, Douglas (Kristen Pattison) Parsons both of Jamestown, two daughters, Alana (Daniel Bartlett) Parsons, Kendra (Ruysdael Morales) Parsons both of Jamestown, four grandchildren, Ian, Kylee, Gracie Parsons and Scott Bartlett all of Jamestown, three sisters, Sabrina(Michael) Keith of Kennedy, NY, Amanda (Hector) Guevara of Jamestown, Tammy Jolly of Denver, CO, her father Kenneth Jolly of Jamestown, two brothers, James (Stephanie) Jolly, Jeffery (Jody) Jolly both of Jamestown, her mother-in-law Arloween Parsons of Jamestown, her sister-in-law Judith Parsons of CA, a brother-in-law Jonas Parsons of Falconer, her step-father Joe Bianco, her very dear friends, Misty Winslow and Victoria Hutchinson as well as several nieces and nephews whom she adored dearly. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 31 years Mitchell D. Parsons, whom she married March 14, 1984 and who died April 17, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Alice LaBarte Jolly, a brother, Kenneth Jolly, her grandmother, Alice Farrell, a step-son, Sean Parsons and close family friend Bobby Benson. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy Phelps, hospice chaplain, will officiate. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
