Obituary of Francesco G. Conti

Francesco G. "Frank" Conti, 83, of 484 South Ave. Jamestown, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016, in the UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. A Jamestown resident since coming from Italy in 1970, he was born August 21, 1932 in Tortorici, Sicily, a son of the late Sebastiano and Marianna Parico Conti. As a young man he served in the Italian Army for several years. Before his retirement, he was a cabinet maker for the former Chase Interiors Company where he worked for many years. In earlier years, while living in Italy, he worked in a spaghetti factory. Frank was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and was a member of the Marco Polo Club. He will be remembered as one who loved working outdoors planting flowers, mowing the lawn and taking care of his home. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Josephine Pintagro Conti whom he married June 9, 1962, two daughters, Roseann Yezzi (Chris Ellis) and Latizia (Dan) Walden both of Jamestown, 5 grandchildren, Aaron Yezzi, Ryan Yezzi, Matthew Yezzi, Rylea Walden all of Jamestown and Tyler Walden of Germany, his three brother-in-laws, Fernando (Val) Pintagro of Jamestown, Jack Pintagro and Angelo Pintagro both of Italy, as well as many nieces and nephews residing in Italy. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Maria, Carmella, Rosaria and a brother Antonino Conti. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
