Obituary of Albert R. Bartlett

Albert R. Bartlett, 90, of 8 Lamont St. Jamestown, formerly of Perrysburg, NY, passed away peacefully Monday February 29, 2016 in his home. He was born June 2, 1925 in Eden, NY the son of the late Albert Henry and Eva May Niles Bartlett. Albert was a 1942 graduate of North Collins High School. Prior to retirement, he worked at Gowanda Central School for many years. He was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship United Methodist Church and earlier Perrysburg United Methodist Church. He was a Life Member of the Perrysburg Fire Co. #1. Albert enjoyed hunting, camping, traveling, and woodworking. He was always there to help others when needed. Surviving are his daughter, Judy (Dwane) Comstock of Busti, NY; four grandchildren: John, Wendy (Kevin), Rebecca, and April; six great grandchildren: Christian, Renee, KayLeigh, Kalob, Jermin (Vicki), and Amanda; two great great grandchildren: Cole and Isabel; a daughter in law, Ann Bartlett of Ashville, NY; and a sister, Agnes (Ray) Abbey of Collins Center. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife June Culver Bartlett whom he married November 5, 1949 and who died September 12, 2012; a son, Bill Bartlett who died March 25, 2013; three sisters: Anabelle Kerr, Fern Leonard, and Jeanette Brown; and two brothers: Bob and Kenneth Bartlett. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Hodgins will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home, where the Koinonia Community will sing at 7:45 p.m. Thursday.
