Obituary of Linnea C. Pangborn

Linnea C. Pangborn, 81, of 306 Sanbury Rd. Jamestown, NY, passed away at 4:09 a.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016, in W.C.A. Hospital. An area resident for most of her life she was born January 12, 1935 in Lander, PA a daughter of the late Nels H. and Agnes C. Carlson. In later years she was a clerk at the Celoron Grocery Store for many years. Linnea was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lakewood and was very active in the Busti community as a member of the Neighborhood Birthday Club, a charter member of the Busti Historical Society, the Busti Willing Workers and was a leader in the Busti 4-H Shamrock Club. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved to spend time quilting, sewing, gardening and was an avid reader and animal lover. She also loved taking care of her home and being outdoors mowing the lawn and planting flowers. Surviving are two daughters, Diane (Verne) Hunter of Youngsville, PA, Linda (Mark) Risley of Sinclairville, NY, a son, Donald R. (Merry) Pangborn of Busti, eight grandchildren, Daryl Tellinghuisen of Cannon Falls, MN, Dustin Tellinghuisen of Williamsville, NY, Tracy Tellinghuisen and Tammy Tellinghuisen both of Jamestown, Alicia Pangborn of Glastonbury, CT, Andrew Pangborn of San Francisco, CA, Luke Risley and Zachary Risley both of Sinclairville, eight great grandchildren and a sister, Elvira Wilson of Lander, PA. Besides her biological parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald F. Pangborn whom she married November 20, 1954 and who died October 3, 2008, two sons, Douglas F. Pangborn, John Pangborn, a sister, Gladys Skinner, two brothers, Clarence and Grant Carlson and her Aunt and Uncle Axel and Leah Carlson who raised her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lakewood. The Rev. Piotr Zaczynski, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Busti Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd.
