Obituary of Michael A. Town

Michael A. Town, 56, of North Hill Road in Gerry, went to be with the Lord, very unexpectedly, on Thursday, April 14, 2016. He was the husband of Marilyn Vik Town, whom he married November 24, 1994. Mike was born March 9, 1960 in Salamanca, NY, the son of the late Gerold and Alice Bailey Town. He had been employed as a supervisor by Ethan Allen in Frewsburg for 20 years and later, by Don Frame Trucking. More recently he has been a devoted employee of Jamestown Macadam. Mike was a member of the Ellington Rod & Gun Club and formerly the Randolph Rod & Gun Club. He attended Zion Tabernacle and loved the Lord. Family was the most important to Mike; he loved being with his wife and best friend, Marilyn, loving, laughing and dreaming together. Mike's greatest accomplishment was raising a daughter and his two grandsons. They were his pride and joy. Mike's other great love were his German Shepherds, "Taz", "Jerry Lee", "Jessie Rose" and "Jagger"; they were his babies. Mike also enjoyed NASCAR, football, Stephen King novels, hunting and taking care of his country home where he loved grilling on the deck, swimming, and planting and tending his gardens. Mike loved and was loved by many. In addition to his sweetheart, Marilyn, surviving is a daughter, Brandy Lindblade of Jamestown; grandsons Shawn and Michael Lindblade, both of Jamestown; three sisters: Lorie Overturf of Falconer and Linda McGuire and Rhonda Town, both of Randolph, NY; eleven nieces & nephews and seven great-nieces & nephews; and a brother-in-law, Kevin (Darla) Vik of Bemus Point. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Patrick Town. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert E. Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Zion Tabernacle, 142 Foote Ave., Jamestown, NY 14701.
