Obituary of James R. Abers

James R. Abers, 62, of Celoron, passed away unexpectedly Thursday June 2, 2016 in UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie. He was born January 1, 1954 in Jamestown the son of the late John J. and Loretta Johnson Abers. Prior to retirement, Jim was an Independent Contractor for many years. Jim enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and the Lakewood American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Eileen Anderson Abers; a daughter, Jodie (Leoncio) Abers of Celoron; a granddaughter, Jetta Carrillo of Celoron; three brothers, Daniel (Peggy) Abers of Lakewood; Thomas (Rhita) Abers of Ashville, NC; Bradley Abers of Jamestown; and a sister, Tamra (Randy) Slingluff of Jamestown. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jason Abers. There will be no funeral service or visitation observed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
