Obituary of Eliane McKee

Eliane McKee, 77, of 101 Winchester Road, Lakewood,NY, died June 2, 2016, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A native of Casablanca, Morocco, she was born July 20, 1938, a daughter of the late Havel Vaclav and Dagmar Slabova Lang. Eliane earned her doctorate degree in foreign language education from The Ohio State University and taught French for 27 years at SUNY Buffalo State College. She was well known throughout the foreign language education system in the Buffalo area and throughout New York State. She was a member of the Jamestown Church of Christ and was very active in all aspects of the church. Her influence during her career as an educator and as a Christian is far reaching and will always be remembered. Surviving is her husband Darrell McKee, whom she married January 20, 1961; two sons Bryan (Sheila) McKee of Circleville, OH and Russell (Cristi) McKee of Friendswood, TX; five grandchildren Dustin, Cory, Kyla, Amanda and Audrey McKee; a brother Mirec Lang of Nice, France and two sisters Dagmar VanDerCruyssen of Nice, France and Dominique Macia of Madrid, Spain. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Stella Lang. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016, in the Jamestown Church of Christ. Richard O. McCurdy, Gospel Preacher will officiate. Following the service a luncheon will be served at the church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the church.
