Obituary of Cynthia L. Shellhouse

Cynthia L. Shellhouse, 68, of 65 N. Alleghany Ave. in Jamestown, passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa. She was the wife of Marvin E. "Sonny" Shellhouse. Cindy was born April 11, 1948 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Robert K. and Margaret Hawkins Bundy. In earlier years, she had been employed as a waitress by several area restaurants. She then worked at TruckLite for a number of years, and more recently, Accredited Care. Cindy felt very blessed to have each of her children and grandchildren living here locally. She loved time spent with them all. In addition to her husband, Sonny, surviving are a son, Brian (Diana) Johnson of Lakewood and their children, Matthew and Heidi; son, Doug (Jane VanEvery) Johnson of West Ellicott and their daughters, Jordan and Julia (Nick) and their daughter, Kendall; daughter, Tricia (Brian) Conklin of Lakewood and their children, Eric, Nathan, Sarah and Brian; son, Gary (Valerie) Johnson of Lakewood and their children, Jacob and Avery; and a daughter, Stephanie (Brian Popham) Shellhouse of West Ellicott and their children, Joshua, Cormac and Keira. Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Melinda (Dan) Devereaux of Jamestown and their children, Alex, Andrew and Aiden; a stepson, Scott Shellhouse of Dallas, Texas; three sisters: Shirley Holm of Mount Dora, Fla., Gloria (Don) Eckam of Cuba, N.Y and Diane (Ken) Miller of Columbia, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Beth Bundy of Jamestown, and brother-in law, Rodney Shellhouse of Pittsburgh, Pa. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bundy; infant brother, Gary Bundy; two brothers-in-law, Jim Holm and Bruce Gunton; and her step-father, Fred Miller. The family wishes to thank the staff of UPMC Hamot for all of their loving, professional care. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Al Conklin will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Cindy's family requests that a tree be planted in her name; or memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorials Center, P.O. Box 7, E. Syracuse, N.Y. 13057.
