Obituary of Roy D. Spitale

Roy D. Spitale, Sr., 70, of 30 Frederick Blvd, West Ellicott, died Saturday June 25, 2016, surrounded by his family in his home. Moving to this area at age 5, he was born March 20, 1946, in Lawton, OK, a son of the late Anthony and Juanita Grey Spitale. He was a veteran of the US Army. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant for 25 years. He earlier had worked for Crawford Furniture. Surviving are his wife the former Linda Vergith, whom he married January 16, 1968; three children Roy Spitale, Jr., of Jamestown, Tracy (Casey) Haberberger of Jamestown and Eric (Lechely) Spitale of Stuttgart, Germany; ten grandchildren Amanda Spitale, Angela Bellardo, Cameron Haberberger, Anthony, Annabella, Alyssa Alyanna and Mary Spitale, Nicholas Smith and Ashlyn Holland; four great grandchildren Dante Spitale, Karma Washington, Haidyn and Eyan Smith; three brothers Carl Spitale of Jamestown, Anthony Spitale of Oklahoma and George Spitale of Buffalo and a sister Kathy Nazzaro of Florida. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate.
