Obituary of Susan L. Stewart

Susan L. Stewart, 68, of 30 Genesee Street, died Friday June 16, 2017, in her home. A Jamestown resident all of her life, she was born June 8, 1949, a daughter of the late Otto and Shirley Pearce Hatfield. She was a 1967 graduate of Jamestown High School and later graduated from Jamestown Business College in 1969. Prior to her retirement in 2015, she was employed by Jamestown Public Schools as an administrative assistant for the building and grounds department. Sue will be remembered as a person who was full of life with a big heart and a great sense of humor. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who supported her family in all of their various activities. She enjoyed cross stitching, lunches with her Wednesday group and cheering on the New York Mets and Cleveland Browns. Surviving are three children Todd (Kristy) Stewart of North Canton, OH, Sean Stewart of Jamestown and Tamie Stewart-Gates of Jamestown; four grandchildren Allyson and Brenden Stewart and Alexandra and Olivia Gates; two brothers David Hatfield of Tampa, FL and Richard (Lory) Hatfield of Ashville and two sisters Barbara Jane (Joe) Muzzo of Lakewood and Penny (Leon)Sutton of Frewsburg. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harry L. Stewart, whom she married October 11, 1970 and who died November 24, 1983 and a sister Deborah Hatfield. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
