Obituary of Anna F. Uber

Anna F. Uber, 89, formerly of 42 McDaniel Ave. in Jamestown, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was the widow of James O. "Pete" Uber, whom she married June 28, 1947 and who died February 5, 2011. Anna was born June 7, 1928 in Emporium, Pa., the daughter of the late Jay W. and Anna Prudence Murphy Allen, and was a graduate of Emporium High School. She enjoyed her many years of employment at the Sears Corp., both in Jamestown and Lakewood, and was a member of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Surviving are three children: Cynthia (George) Odom of Ocklawaha, Fla., and Penny Uber and David Uber, both of Ormond Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren: Diane (Mark) Mitchell and Jordanne Stanford, both of Florida, Justin Stanford of Hawaii, and Shane, Sean and Tyler Uber, all of Jamestown; and two brothers: William Allen of Lakewood, NY and Larry (Lorraine) Allen of Kirtland, OH. Also surviving are five great-granddaughters: Katelynn (Justin) Elwood, Kacee (Jared) Bewley and Rayne Bell, all of Florida, and Taylor and Olivia Stanford, both of Hawaii; six great-grandsons: Kurtis (Chantelle), Korry and Kolton Mitchell and Geoffrey (Marissa) Danielson, all of Florida, and Richard and David Danielson, both of North Carolina; and several great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Pete, she was preceded in death by two sons: Robert Uber and Edward Eber, both in 2012; a grandson, David Danielson; and three brothers: Richard Allen, Michael Allen and Jay W. Allen, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon Tuesday, August 29th in Ss. Peter & Paul Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende will be celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be made to Holy Apostles Parish, 508 Cherry St., or to The Resource Center, 200 Dunham Ave., both Jamestown, NY 14701.
