Obituary of Robert I. Utter

Robert I. Utter, 85, of Jamestown, died unexpectedly Sunday August 27, 2017, in his home. A native of Jamestown, he was born February 16, 1932, a son of the late Eric and Selma Carlson Utter. He was a 1950 graduate of Jamestown High School. A Korean War veteran, he served in the US Air Force from 1952-56 achieving the rank of staff sergeant. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Lutheran Social Services in the maintenance department. In earlier years he worked for Proto Tool. He was an active lifelong member of First Lutheran Church serving as an usher and member of the property committee. His other memberships include War Vets Recreation and American Legion. Surviving are his brother Glenn (Karen Linn) Utter of Jamestown. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Burdette Utter. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Lutheran Church. Rev. Daniel K. Nagle will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
