Obituary of Maria Toter

Maria Toter, 98, of 9 Crane St. Jamestown, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017, in Absolut of Westfield, Westfield, NY. Coming to the United States in 1951 with her two sons, she was born December 10, 1919 in Novo Mesto, Yugoslavia, a daughter of the late Ivan and Theresia Grobelnik Donko. Before coming to Jamestown she had resided in Gowanda, NY for many years where she worked as a cook at the Gowanda Palm Gardens. Surviving are two sons; Benjamin (Terri) Toter of Jamestown, Bronco (Karen) Toter of Windber, PA, 5 grandchildren; Kayla Pollaro, Stacy Chriest, Heidi Allshouse, Michael Toter, Tanya Carroll, 10 great grandchildren and a sister, Stefka Donko of Sostanj, Slovenia. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Franz Toter, a son, Ladislav Toter and several siblings. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
