Obituary of Lynne Anne Tobias

Lynne A. Tobias, 69, of West Oak Hill Rd. Jamestown, NY passed away unexpectedly at 4:11 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018, in her home. A lifelong area resident, she was born December 10, 1948 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Norman and Lilly Pitts Robinson. She attended the former Bemus Point School and was a member of the first graduating class from Maple Grove Central School, the class of 1967. In previous years she was a waitress at the Anthenaeum Hotel on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution for 13 years. She also worked for several area restaurants in the Jamestown area for many years. She was a member of the Ira Lou Spring Post 149 American Legion Auxiliary for many years. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time knitting and doing crafts. She also loved raising horses and riding on her property on West Oak Hill Rd. Surviving are her husband, James E. Tobias whom she married October 1, 1977, a daughter; Tracy (Scott) Waterhouse of Bemus Point, NY, three sons; William (Laurie) Waterhouse of Jamestown, Clayton (Billy Jo) Tobias, Steven (Nicole) Tobias both of Busti, NY, 11 grandchildren; Gary A. Kum, III, Jared Kum, Kody Waterhouse, Jessica Waterhouse, Courtney Tobias, Jesia Hogue, Jordan Hogue, Joshua Hogue, Ryan Bialaszewski, Rachel Bialaszewski, Brandy Clark, 9 great grandchildren, a brother; James Woodring of FL, and a sister Penny Magnuson of OH. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two grandchildren; Trevor M. Waterhouse, Brittany Lynne Waterhouse who both died April 20, 1997 and a brother; Jack Woodring. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the Fluvanna Fire Department, 3536 Fluvanna Ave. Ext. Jamestown, NY 14701.
