Obituary of Mary L. Breakey

Mary L. Breakey, 75, of Hidden Valley Campground in Jamestown and Deltona, FL , passed away Friday evening, Oct. 27, 2023 at Orange City Nursing & Rehab in DeBary, FL. She was born June 23, 1948 in Robbinsdale, MN, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Alvena Crist Brunsberg. Mary had been employed as a teacher's aide at the former Fairmount Avenue and Lincoln Junior High Schools. She attended Zion Lutheran Church in Frewsburg, NY and in Florida, the Lutheran Church of Providence. A lover of handwork, Mary enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cross stitch, as well as ceramics, family history and travel. Mary is survived by her husband, James Breakey whom she married July 29, 1972; three children: James K. Breakey of North Carolina, Robert W. Breakey of Deltona, FL, and Brenda A. Dunn of Lakewood, NY; five grandchildren: Mariah, Alicia, Morgan, Joshuah, and Jeanne; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Sally Ann Foxen of Arizona, and a brother, Richard (Dianna) Brunsberg of Arizona; and a step-brother, Larry (Mary) Roberts of Texas. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by stepmother, Lavone Brunsberg; stepfather, Reyes Foxen; and two sisters, Debbie Ragland and Deanna Riedel. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16th in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Phillip Roushey will officiate. Burial will be in Kiantone Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. on both Tuesday and Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 445 Falconer St., Frewsburg, NY 14738.
