Obituary of Shane B. Anderson

Shane B. Anderson, 54, of 138 Buffalo Street, died Sunday December 10, 2023, in his home. He was born April 9, 1969, in Jamestown, a son of Bruce and Cheryl Page Anderson. He was a 1988 graduate of Jamestown High School. A veteran of the US Army, Shane served from 1988-92 as a US Army Tanker during Desert Storm and the Battle of Medina Ridge. He received numerous medals during his service including Army Commendation, 5 Army Achievement, National Defense Service, Saudi Arabian Medal and Kuwait Medal for the Liberation of Kuwait, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Iraq Campaign, Army Good Conduct, Humanitarian Service, and Overseas Service, an Army Service Ribbon, and a Conspicuous Service Cross. He had been employed by Matco Tool as a factory worker. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America and served on their military honor guard. He was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and loved his motorcycle. Surviving besides his parents of Jamestown is his wife Deborah Smith Anderson; two daughters Krysta Rives of Jamestown and Brooke Foster of Brocton; two grandchildren Julian and Gabriel Rives and his dog Ozzy. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 1 pm Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Lake View Cemetery.
