Obituary of Rosemary Cali

Rosemary (Rosi) Cali, 75, of Jamestown, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2024, at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 26, 1948, in Jamestown, NY, to the late Kenneth and Bernice James Fuller. Rosi, a proud graduate of Panama Central School in 1966, furthered her education at Jamestown Community College, where she crossed paths with her future husband. She dedicated a substantial portion of her life to youth advocacy, contributing her expertise at The Resource Center and serving as a dedicated paraprofessional in the Jamestown Public Schools system. Notably, she worked closely with special needs children at various elementary schools, leaving a lasting impact on their lives and fostering a sense of inclusivity within the educational community. A faithful member of Christ First United Methodist Church, she also cherished her time as a member of The Red Hat Society. Celebrated for her selflessness, Rosi's immense generosity left an enduring mark on countless lives. Whether baking her "world-famous" chocolate chip cookies or devoting time to knit scarves for those in need, Rosi's radiated warmth and love. Embracing life's simple joys, she cherished moments with her children, grandchildren, and extended family, especially relishing walks along the beach with her husband during their numerous stays in Florida. Her unwavering positive spirit persisted, even in the face of life's trials. Affectionately dubbed "crash" for her occasional fender benders, Rosi approached life with resilience and an infectious sense of humor; willing to strike up a conversation with anyone. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52-years, Mario Cali; her daughter, Amy (Michael) Norberg of Jamestown; two sons: David (Shelby) Cali of Virginia and Jason (Colleen) Cali of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Justin (McKenzie Lux) Gould, Hailey Gould, Nathan Cali, Natalie Woods, and Caden Woods; her nephew, Duane Fuller, and niece, Brenda Fuller. In addition to her parents, Rosi was preceded in death by her two brothers, Ken Fuller and David Fuller and a sister Rita Braley. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Lind Funeral Home, 805 W. 3rd St, Jamestown, NY 14701, with a private burial at Lake View Cemetery. Friends are invited to pay their respects two hours prior to the service, from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
