Obituary of Joseph L. Robinson

Joseph L. Robinson, 80, of Rochester, NY, formerly Jamestown, passed away Friday, Feb. 9, 2024 at UPMC Hamot following a brief illness. Joseph was born June 27, 1943 in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Joseph and Anna Scott Robinson. He was predeceased by his sisters and brother, Ernestine Thompson, Vera Hampshire and Norris Robinson, Jr. Joseph graduated from East High and from Buffalo State University with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. He was very proud of his military service in the US Marine Corps, service from 1960 to 1964. He then worked at the Republic Steel Plant in Buffalo, then Blackstone Corp. and Carborundum Co. in Jamestown before retirement from The Resource Center. Joseph is survived by his loving partner, Jessie Moore of Rochester; two daughters, T'Anna Robinson of Buffalo and Carla Robinson of Jamestown; a sister, Carolyn Maclin and brother, Lester Robinson of Buffalo; a beautiful granddaughter named Dream that he loved dearly; and several nieces and a nephew that was very special to him. Joseph will be remembered for his outgoing spirit for life, his smile, and for how much he loved his family and his friends. Following his wishes, no service or visitation will be observed.
