Obituary of Elaine J. Larson

Elaine J. Larson, died on February 18, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born May 5, 1930, in Jamestown, NY the daughter of the late John Arthur Larson and Gunborg Lindberg Larson. Elaine was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School and the Bryant & Stratton Business Institute of Buffalo, NY, in 1950. Elaine was a member of the American Scandinavian Heritage Foundation and the Salvation Army Home League and Senior Citizens. She was a member of Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church. Elaine enjoyed crocheting, reading biographies, crafting, and completing jigsaw puzzles in her later years. In her earlier years, she was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, and enjoyed having dinner parties, sewing, knitting, cooking, baking, and quilting. She always had to try a new and interesting recipe! Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon J. Larson, whom she married Sept. 15, 1951 and who died December 3, 1988. Surviving is a daughter, Connie J. Moore of Jamestown, NY and a son, Scott E. Larson (Quang Tran) of Fairfax VA and four grandsons, Justin A. Moore of Jamestown, NY, Tayler A. Moore of Jamestown, NY, Evan M. Moore of Buffalo, NY, and Camaron Larson-Tran of Fairfax, VA. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Jeannine Robinson of Bowling Green, OH. and several nieces and nephews, including Marilee Clark of Ashville, NY and Beryl Emley of Ross Mills, NY. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home, led by Rev. Laura Csellak. Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service Thursday in the funeral home.
