Obituary of Armando Michele Calimeri

We are heartbroken to announce the death of Armando "Mike" Michele Calimeri. He passed away peacefully on April 6, 2023 at the age of 65, surrounded by his family. Mike was born October 23, 1958, in Jamestown, a son of an immigrant family that came from Tortorici, Italy. At a young age Mike worked alongside his older brothers who were cabinetmakers by trade. He had an enthusiasm and work ethic that was loved and appreciated. He was always the first to arrive at work and the last to leave. Working with his family, Mike developed a love of carpentry which carried him through most of his life as his occupation. He spent many years working for Artone Manufacturing and then developed his own company, Calimeri General Contracting. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, and archery. He especially loved to spend time with family and friends. Mike always had a smile on his face, was funny and brought humor to any situation. His kind, thoughtful and unexpected gestures left lasting impressions on everyone around him. Whenever you needed him, he was always there. As we mourn the loss of Mike, let us celebrate the extraordinary life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind. May his memory be a blessing, and may we strive to honor the same love, kindness and helpful demeanor that defined his life. Mike is survived by Kathleen, his beloved wife; his children Whitney (Sean) Kacie (Brandon) and Matthew (Kimberly) Calimeri; grandchildren Charlotte and Shane Pulliam; brothers Carl and Anthony Calimeri and sisters Marianna Pintagro and Josephine Bentley along with a host of family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory. Mike was preceded in death by his father Michele Calimeri; mother Rosaria Paterniti Calimeri; brothers Rosario, Frank and Sebastian Calimeri and sisters Aldina Gullotti and Mary Territo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday in St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 pm Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. You may leave words of condolence at www.lindfuneralhome.com.
