Obituary of Wendy L. Young

Wendy Louise Young, 67, of Lakewood passed away at her winter home in Spring Hill, FL, on April 9, 2024, surrounded by her family and her precious dog, Ollie. She has been happily married to John Young since 1977. Her family will miss her deeply, including her sister Donna Whitmore, sisters-in-law Janice Pacheco and Joan Holmes, her son James Young, and his wife Sharon. Wendy's granddaughters, Jessica (Tyler) Long and Briana (Shawn) Thompson, along with her great grandchildren, Monroe and Maren Long and Harlow and Calvin Thompson, will carry on her memory. Wendy was predeceased by her father Alfred Peterson, her mother Shirley Peterson-Russell, and her sister Lorna Farrell. Wendy loved to explore, travel, and spend time with her friends and family. She had a special place in her heart for her spoiled dogs, that she treated like family. Her best friend, Diane Sturzenbecker, was always there for her, through good and tough times. Wendy enjoyed vacations, playing cards, and game nights with loved ones. Her life was full of joy, and she left us with many happy memories. We say goodbye to Wendy, who was a gift to everyone around her. In keeping with Wendy's wishes no memorial service or visitation will be observed.
