Obituary of Harold Sodeur

Harold "Hal" Sodeur, 89, of Jamestown, passed away April 9, 2024, in Heritage Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The son of Harold and Elsie Sodeur, Hal was born in Milford, NJ and grew up in Hackensack, NJ. Following his graduation from New York University in 1954, he proudly served in the Army from 1954 until 1959. Hal made his career as a computer programmer for thirty years in the Binghamton, NY area while also maintaining private work throughout the years. Harold is survived by his wife of 22 years, Ruth Johnson-Sodeur, with whom they raised their family in Endwell, NY, Olean, NY, and finally Jamestown, NY. He is also survived by his son Kevin, twin sons Michael and Thomas of Binghamton, NY; a daughter Patricia of Marro, OH; five stepsons; two stepdaughters; seven biological grandchildren; and 26 step grandchildren. He is predeceased by a twin son, Thomas, who passed away in 2023 along with his first wife, Geraldine Sodeur (Bumbaco), who passed away in 2000. No viewing will be observed, but a graveside service will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum in Johnson City, NY.
