Obituary of John W. Heberle

John W. "Jack" Heberle, 76, of 62 W. 11th St, died Tuesday March 2, 2010, in WCA Hospital. A Jamestown native, he was born February 25, 1934, a son of the late John and Dorothy Breckenridge Heberle, Sr. He was a 1952 graduate of Bemus Point High School and served in the New York State National Guard from 1951-58. He was employed by Jamestown Metal and earlier by Art Metal, Inc, as a finish painter. He was a member of the Fluvanna Volunteer Fire Department where he was a past assistant chief and EMT. His other memberships include War Vets Recreation and an associate member of Ira Lou Spring Post #149 American Legion. He was a sports enthusiast especially if he was watching his grandchildren play. He was also an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife the former Dorothy Snyder, whom he married April 23, 1952, five children Lori (Tim) Gustafson of Bemus Point, Julie (Bob) Woolston of North Tonawanda, David (Valerie) Heberle of Castroville, TX, Mary Samuelson of Lakewood and Shaun (Marlene) Marsh of Bemus Point, fourteen grandchildren Jackie Owczarzak of Hamilton, OH, Jason Helms and Amber Samuelson of Falconer, Vince Gustafson, Julia Marsh and Theresa Marsh of Bemus Point, Kevin Gustafson of Germany, Amber Samuelson and Brittany Samuelson of Lakewood, Daniel Heberle of Sanborn, NY, Bradley Heberle of Castroville, TX, Brian Woolston of Lockport and Christopher (Nicole) Woolston and Barbara Woolston of North Tonawanda, 14 great grandchildren, a great great grandson and an uncle Alan Loucks of Greenhurst. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Steven Farr and a brother Ronald Heberle. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral home. Rev. Daniel G. McBride, pastor of Bemus point United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
