Obituary of Waneta R. Harrison

Waneta R. Harrison, 92, of Jamestown, NY, died peacefully at home with her daughter, Friday August 21, 2009. She was born June 25, 1917 in Averill, MI, the daughter of the late David and Clara Proctor. She was formerly employed by National Worsted Mills and Jamestown Rubber Stamp Company in earlier years. A former resident of Columbus, OH, she was employed by R. G. Barry Company, retiring after 20 years as a supervisor. She relocated back to Jamestown in 1984 after the death of her husband, the late Walter Harrison. She is preceded in death by a brother, the late Harold Farmer, and a son, the late Ricardo V. Hammond Sr. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara L. Sharp of Jamestown, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid dog lover and leaves behind her beloved pet, Pumpkin. She is remembered by those who loved her as a woman of great dignity and a perfectionist who possessed a wealth of common sense. She was willing to help anyone in need and was a true friend to many. She is a tremendous loss to her daughter Barbara and sons, whose only solace is knowing she is watching out for them from above. According to her wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral.
