Paul J. Territo, 81, of 538 Fox Lake Dr., Lakeland, FL., formerly of South Main St. Ext., Jamestown, NY passed away Tuesday (July 20, 2010) in the Good Shepherd Hospice Facility in Lakeland, FL. A Florida resident for the past 20 years, he was born October 30, 1928 in Delancey, PA a son of the late Charles and Lucy Mattay Territo. A 1946 Jamestown High School graduate, he was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving from November 9, 1950 to November 24, 1952 during the Korean War. He also served in the Army Reserves from 1952 to 1954 and in the Army National Guard from September 14, 1954 to September 13, 1969, retiring as First Sergeant. Prior to his enlistment in the U.S. Army he had also served from 1947 to 1950 in the U.S. Naval Reserves. While living in Florida he was employed by Lakeland Electric in the Maintenance Department, retiring in 2000. During his years in Jamestown he did his apprentice work for Scalise Construction as a carpenter and then co-operated Territo and Johnson Construction as a carpenter/contractor for several years. He then owned and operated the former Brass Rail Restaurant from 1970 to 1978. He later helped out as a chef at Mr. B's and the Brookwood Restaurants on several occasions. Paul was also a salesman at McFadden Ford and Verblaw Truck Sales. He was a member of the American Legion and Thule Lodge. In earlier years he was active in the Jamestown Boys and Girls Club and continued to support them throughout the years. Paul always liked to work with his hands, whether it be in carpentry, working on cars or anything with an engine. He had a heart of gold and could always be counted on to give his advise (opinion). He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
