Obituary of Louis A. Baglia

Louis A. Baglia, 84, of Tanglewood Manor, formerly of Stearns Avenue, Jamestown, died Saturday December 4, 2010, in WCA Hospital. A Jamestown resident all of his life, he was born November 27, 1926, a son of Leonard and Frances Napolitano Baglia. He was a 1944 graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Cummins Engine Company and earlier had worked for Watson Manufacturing. He was a communicant of St James Catholic Church. He was a long time volunteer at WCA Hospital helping with patient transport. Surviving are five children Leonard (Tricia) Baglia of Athens, NY, Peter (Debbie) Baglia of Wingate, NC, Frances (Gordon) Zabel of Monroe, NC, Paul (Linda) Baglia of Panama and Estelle (Darrin) Shanley of East Otto, NY; twelve grandchildren Robert, James, Mark, Michael, Brittany, Elisabeth and Sara Baglia, Steven, Christine and David Zabel and Benjamin and Shannon Englund; two great grandchildren Isaac Englund and Carys Baglia and two sisters Antoinette Baglia and Gertrude DiCosimo, both of Cleveland, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Antoinette "Toni" Miraglia, who died July 1, 1993, a sister Lucy Petrina Baglia and a brother Vincent Baglia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. James Catholic Church. Rev. John L. Kuhlmann will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 6:45 p.m. You may light a candle in remembrance of Louis at www.lindfuneralhome.com.
