Obituary of Cynthia S. Fransen

Cynthia S. Fransen, 67, of 7 Muto St. Lakewood, died at 9:00 a.m. Saturday (January 22, 2011) in WCA hospital. She was born January 1, 1944 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Charles E. and Almina Rounds Seager. Cindy was a 1962 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended SUNY Fredonia. In earlier years, she was employed by the Chautauqua Regional Hospital Services. From 1984 until January 2009, she taught and was director of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Pre-School. Cindy was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, serving as Sunday School Children's Choir Director, directing the Christmas Program and helping with vacation Bible school. She was also a member of Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion Auxiliary; and AARP. Surviving are her husband, R. Lawrence "Larry" Fransen whom she married December 31, 1966; a son, Thure Fransen of Jamestown; four sisters, Delores "Dodie" (Jim) Erickson, Joyce (Tom) Atkinson, Sylvia (Clair) Braley, all of Jamestown; Carolee (late Charles) Dillon of Alpine, CA; a brother, David (Lucy) Seager of Jamestown; six nieces and nephews, Amy (Ron) Raffa, Stacey Dorman, Matthew (Pam) Kubinski, Kriste (Rich) Bentley all of Jamestown; Charles (Desiree) Dillon, Kelly (Joe) Ryan, both of Alpine, CA; and 11 great nieces and great nephews. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Alison L. Leitzel, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the church Wednesday.
