Obituary of Marjorie I. Mattison

Marjorie I. "Marge" Mattison, 73, of 44 Gifford Ave. in Celoron, died at 4:40 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2011 at Millard Fillmore - Gates Circle Hospital. She was the wife of Norman L. Mattison, whom she married Sept. 25, 1954. A lifelong area resident, she was born April 25, 1937 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late James and Mabel Morrell Bush. Marge was a cook for the Cummins Engine Co. in Lakewood for a number of years, retiring in 2000. For more than 20 years she had been a member of the Busti Ladies Auxiliary. She was a devoted NASCAR and avid Jeff Gordon fan. In addition to her husband, surviving are four children: Roxanne (Bob Kujawa) Cross of Fredonia, Norman J. Mattison of Celoron, William (Bonnie) Mattison of Jamestown and Micky (Scott) Schrecongost of Falconer; 12 grandchildren: Heather (Jason) Blitz, Lane (Billy) Bailey, Jessica Pinzone, Paul Montgomery, William Abbey Jr., Nicole Mattison, Kristina Schrecongost, Missy J. Schrecongost, Katie (Jeff) Lewis, Jaclyne (Jason) Crowell, Mitchell Schrecongost and Joshua Fisher; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eileen Hall of Panama; and her faithful dog and constant companion, Lilly. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany Mattison, and a brother, James Bush and sister, Mary Hallett. The funeral will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Howard Garver will officiate. Friends will be received for 3 hours prior to the service, from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 W.
