Obituary of Larry P. Staples

Larry P. Staples, 59, of 23 West Third Street, ran into the arms of Jesus at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday March 9, 2011, in Veterans Administration Hospital, Buffalo. A Jamestown native, he was born August 11, 1951, a son of the late Sheldon and Barbara Lawson Staples. A 1970 graduate of Southwestern Central School he served in the US Army from 1971-73 stationed in Manheim, Germany. He was employed by Nordic Fabricating as a welder and earlier had worked for Space Labs in California in the maintenance department. He attended Zion Taberncle where he had driven the church van, taught at VBS & Sunday School, sang in the church choir, and had been Worship leader with his sister Linda. He loved the Lord with all of his heart, soul, mind and body. Accepting the Lord changed his entire life. He was a very proud veteran who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a tender man who loved his family very much. Surviving are a daughter Janelle Randinelli of Honey Brook, PA, seven siblings Rick Lawson, Linda Jim, Veronica Samuelson, David Lawson, Donald Lawson and Sherry Malta all of Jamestown and Tracy Lawson of Warren, PA, several nieces and nephews including Kylea-Rozella Baca and Savantuay Boyette, whom he helped raise. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his birth parents June Dunkle and Milo Lawson and four brothers Terry Staples, Robert Staples, Thad Lawson and Charles Lawson. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion Tabernacle, 142 Foote Ave. Jamestown. Rev. Robert E. Reeves will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Friday in the church and for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the church.
