Obituary of Michael J. Scalise

Michael J. Scalise, 42, of 276 Fairmount Avenue, died Monday May 30, 2011, the result of a motorcycle accident. He was born February 18, 1969 in Jamestown, a son of Jack and Judith Johnson Scalise. He graduated from Southwestern Central School in 1988 and later graduated from Hilbert College followed by attending Robert Morris University. He was employed by Serta Mattress as a truck driver. Michael was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He was a certified personal trainer who enjoyed camping and hiking and riding with the Hollyloft Cycling Club. He received the greatest joy playing and spending time with his nieces and nephew. Surviving besides his parents of Jamestown are a brother Jarrett (Jamie) Scalise of West Ellicott; two nieces Ariel and Victoria Scalise and a nephew Kayden Scalise. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Connie Scalise and C. Gunnard and Leota Johnson. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Bethel Lutheran Church. Rev. Adam Miller-Stubbendick will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home.
