Obituary of Stephen C. Frye

Stephen C. Frye, 54, of Eiden Road Mayville, died unexpectedly Thursday September 29, 2011 in the Wellsboro Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. He was born November 7, 1956 in Niagara Falls, NY the son of Charles B. and Hazel I. Dobson Frye. Steve attended Chautauqua High School and later studied blacksmithing. He was a dairy farmer for ten years and worked as a blacksmith. He also along with his father ran a saw mill. Steve was currently working for Zandera Resources in Mansfield, PA, drilling wells in the Wellsboro area. While in high school he played drums and throughout his life participated in several pool leagues. He loved all animals, especially his horses and his pets; hunting, and motorcycles. Surviving besides his parents of Stedman are three children, Justin, Jennifer, and Julie Frye all of Sherman, NY. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. John Gocke will officiate. Burial will be in Panama Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Sunday in the funeral home.
