Obituary of Richard S. Plank

Richard S. "Dick" Plank, 76, of 66 Jackson Ave. WE, died Sunday (October 2, 2011) in WCA Hospital. A lifelong area resident, he was born January 9, 1935 in Jamestown the son of the late R. Spencer and Adelaide Bowen Plank. Dick was a US Army Veteran. Prior to retirement, he worked as an engineer at CE preAirheater, formerly Struthers Wells in Warren, PA. He was a member of Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion; Chautauqua Lake Fishing Assn.; Lakewood Rod and Gun Club; and a 50 year active member of the Celoron Hose Co. # 1 where he held several offices over the years. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Engle Plank; two daughters, Brenda Plank of Fort Myers, FL; Penny (Todd) Setter of Bath, MI; and three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Nicholas, and Ashley Setter, all of Bath. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert C. Plank. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Fire Service Chaplain Peter Dawson and Celoron Fire Department Chaplain Ray Eckholm will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Celoron Hose Co. #1 inc. c/o the Snorkel Refurbishing Fund, PO Box 328, Celoron, NY 14720.
