Obituary of Loretta M. Sandbloom

Loretta M. Sandbloom, 97, of 748 Harding Avenue, died Thursday November 17, 2011, in the home of her daughter at 322 Cole Avenue. A native of Jamestown, she was born October 31, 1914, a daughter of Earl and Marjorie Diamond Johnson. She attended Jamestown Schools and had been employed by the former Wades Shoe Store and Brown Built Shoe Store. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. She was caregiver to her grandchildren Patty and Tim Rasmusson for all of their childhood years. Once Patty began a career in teaching Loretta spent many years making crafts to send to Patty's classroom students in California. Surviving are a daughter Barbara (Ralph) Rasmusson; six grandchildren Patricia (Kermit) So of San Diego, CA, Dr. Timothy (Kimberly) Rasmusson of Elma, NY William, Ronald, Richard and Robert Storms; 11 great grandchildren; Hunter and Ty So, Madeline and Timothy Rasmusson and Matthew, Ronald, Jr., Greg, Emily, Carrie, Jessica and Robert Storms, Jr. and three great-great grandchildren; Logan, Camryn and Ella Storms. She was preceded in death by her husband William Sandbloom, a daughter Patricia Storms, a sister Beverly Tyler and a brother Boyd Johnson. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Alison L. Leitzel will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
