Obituary of Lois B. Apotosh

Lois B. Apotosh, 82, of 4990 Stoneledge Road, Ashville, died Friday November 18, 2011, in WCA Hospital. An Ashville resident all of her life, she was born February 10, 1929, the daughter of Earl and Florence Fuller Butts. She was a 1946 graduate of Lakewood High School. Prior to her retirement she had been employed by the Resource Center Early Learning Center, Ashville as a receptionist and secretary. She had earlier worked for Jamestown Community College, Monitor Furniture, Crescent Tool and Pitts Corporation. She and her husband had a passion for automobiles. She was an active member of Sports Car Club of America, Chautauqua Lake Region Automobile Club of America and the Porsche Club of America. She was a founding member of Automobile Sports Club of Warren, PA. She was also a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. She enjoyed listening to jazz music. Surviving are her husband Robert Apotosh, whom she married April 15, 1950, a daughter Julie (Paul) Shaver of Rochester, NY and two grandchildren Christopher Paul and Gregory Robert Shaver, both of Rochester. She was preceded in death by a brother Vance Butts and a half brother Richard Hey. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel W. Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville. Friends will be received from 3-6 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
