Obituary of Josephine M. Conti

Josephine M. Conti, 100, of the Frewsburg Rest Home formerly of 219 South Main St. passed away at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday (November 22, 2011) in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident she was born July 26, 1911 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine DePane Carone. In earlier years she had worked at the former Empire Worsted Mills for several years. She was a communicant of St James Catholic Church and will be remembered for her love of baking and cooking, especially for her homemade pasta, cookies and wine. Surviving are her sister Connie Zimbeck of Toledo, OH and numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Natalia "Ned" Conti whom she married April 26, 1930 and who died November 16, 2000, four brothers Thomas, Sebastian "Bus", Carl and Samuel Carone and three sisters Angeline Salemme, Katherine Paterniti and Rosaria "Sarah" Pacitti. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor of St. James Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home.
