Obituary of Naomi "Fay" Scott

Naomi "Fay" Scott, 65, of 110 Francis St. Jamestown, NY passed away at 12:30 p.m. Monday (November 28, 2011) in the home of her daughter after a short courageous battle with cancer. An area resident for most of her life she was born August 26, 1946 in Altoona, PA a daughter of the late Naomi Simpson Wroblewski. She had previously been employed by Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. as a personal care aide. In earlier years she was a waitress for several area restaurants and also worked at Kling Furniture in Frewsburg, NY. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved doing crafts, including quilting and crocheting. She loved cooking, sewing and attending every garage sale that she was able. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at family dinners and family picnics, and will always be known as an avid Elvis Presley fan. She collected many Elvis memorabilia items over the years. Surviving are her three children Thomas G. Wachter, Pamela F. Seekings, Rhonda L. Meuker all of Jamestown, eleven grandchildren Thomas V. Wachter of Ft. Richardson, AK, Christina Lanphere, Victor Matthews, Jeffrey Parker, Brittanii, Ashlyn and Tyler Seekings, Marissa, James and Kelly Meuker and BrandiWalters all of Jamestown, two step-children Scott Woodcock, Brenda Melerski, seven step-grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, a brother Albert "Gene" Helsel of Russell, PA and a nephew Jason Helsel of Lakewood, NY. She is also survived by her companion and best friend Clayton Scott. She was preceded in death by her mother who died December 21, 2009, her step-father Edward Wroblewski who died in 1985 and her fianc of 22 years Clifford Woodcock who died in 1998. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Roy A. Ferguson, pastor of the Busti Church of God will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 West Fairmount Ave. Jamestown NY 14701.
