Obituary of Clayton A. "Scotty" Danielson

Clayton A. "Scotty" Danielson, 93, formerly of 810 Spring St, died Sunday January 1, 2012 in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born September 29, 1918 in Jamestown the son of Arthur J. and Esther Marie Anderson Danielson. Scotty was a 1935 graduate of Bemus Point High School. Prior to living in Jamestown, he owned a farm in Clymer in the late 1940's and early 1950's; and resided in Ellery, Kiantone, and the City of Alburquerque, New Mexico. Scotty was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving as a Staff Sergeant during the campaigns of Areennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France, and the Rhineland; He was awarded the Bronze Star, the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. For many years, Scotty was a well known auto mechanic in the area, working for various garages. He retired from the former CMK Auto Parts. He was a member of Ira Lou Spring Post 149 American Legion; and a former member of the DAV and Calvary Assembly of God Church. Surviving are a son, Dale Danielson (Judy) of Springfield, MO; two daughters, Jannene Seekings (Delbert Jr.) and Mary Ford (David); both of Jamestown; seven grandchildren, David Danielson (Casey) of Branson, MO; Michael Danielson of Springfield, MO; Brandon Ford (Elizabeth) of Grantville, GA; Ryan Seekings of Jamestown; Tiffany Decker (Kirk) of Busti, NY; Nichole Kopenski (Rob) of Powder Springs, GA; Renae Bordenkircher (Erik) of Silver Creek, NY; eight great grandchildren, Beka, Samuel, and James Kopenski; Curtis and Hannah Ford; Samantha and Joseph Bordenkircher; Alyssa Danielson; two step grandchildren, Jason Decker (Tammy) and Shannon Decker; and three great great step grandchildren, Brandon Decker; Alexis and Nick Crossley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hoyle Danielson whom he married April 29, 1943 and who died December 20, 1999; a sister, Ruby G. Johnson; and three brothers, Siebert L., Richard A., and Duane Danielson. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Lee O'Brien of the Busti Federated Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday and for one hour prior to the service Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
