Obituary of Margaret Rose Glad

Margaret R. Glad, 70, of the Hotel Jamestown, 110 West Third St. passed away at 5:35 p.m. Saturday (January 21, 2012) in her home. A lifelong area resident she was born September 21, 1941 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Bert F. and Astrid A. Samuelson Johnson. She was a 1959 graduate of Jamestown High School. In earlier years she was the Administrator for the former Warner Home and previously had worked as a teacher's aide for the Jamestown Public Schools. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She always had a kind word to say and will surely be missed by the friends and companions that she made through the apartment complex. She also enjoyed being a member of the St. Luke's Downtown Ministry. Surviving are three daughters Deborah L. (Kevin) Conlan of Frewsburg, NY, Cynthia M. (Charles) Rodgers of Falconer, NY, Marcia E. (Tab) Loftis of Cuba, NY, six grandchildren Ryann M. Conlan, Tyler D. Conlan both of Frewsburg, Mackenzie L. Rodgers, Katelyn M. Rodgers both of Falconer, Chadwick L. Loftis of Rochester, NY, Colin B. Loftis of Cuba, two sisters Barbro A. Smith of Jamestown, Jean A. Cook of Warren, PA. and also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a nephew Paul Cook, Jr. A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Susan Anslow Williams, associate rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church will officiate. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in the Allen Cemetery.
